Continued after the jump!!
The Dollar Tree has these ugly candles. They're not scented, they're unattractive, there's no reason to buy them except they burn forever. They're narrow, and they fit perfectly into a pickle jar.
I used a little E-6000 glue and secured the candle to the bottom of the pickle jar. There's a small gap between the candle jar and the pickle jar, the perfect size to drop in fun little decorative thingies. Once it dried, I dug around for some fun little decorative thingies. I ended up with some old project leftovers: little glass rock decor and some seashells, both purchased from the dollar store ages ago.
I stacked the glass rocks along the side in no particular order and without regard to a color scheme. I was a little more precise with the seashells, mostly so they wouldn't drop in upside down.I finished the jars with a bit of silk ribbon and some polished hemp twine. I hot glued small seashells onto the ends of the twine to give it a little extra oomph. I hate the word oomph. It looks like there should be a consonant at the beginning. I digress.
They're pretty enough in the daylight, and they're absolutely GAWgeous at night. They're a nice size too, and they have a great visual impact, especially on a patio. Not bad for a couple of pickle jars, eh??
Such beachy sweetness!! And I just so happen to have a really large pickle jar (husband loves pickles, haha).
